Job Loss Turns Into God's Purpose
I was laid off from my job a couple of years ago because my 20-plus years of experience in corporate IT/project management did not matter. I was no longer needed. That's not what they said, but that's what was meant. While this wasn't the first time I was laid off, (I was in corporate after all), this time felt different. I needed a change and quite frankly, I was tired of being in that cutthroat world.
I decided to delve into more creative pursuits centered around my love for Jesus Christ. I started a YouTube channel and posted my first Jen2TheWord YouTube video. I started drawing and knitting. I purchased Adobe Creative Suite and started teaching myself how to use Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Doing all of these things made me happy and fulfilled.
I started to create artwork that would eventually make it onto my Be Not Afraid tees, Peace Angel hoodies, Mission Hats and His Eye Is On The Sparrow. And I quietly launched my Jen2TheWord store.
My Mission
I know I will spend the rest of my life creating artwork and designs that reflect my love for Jesus, His Gospel and God's Holy Word. Even if people favor my Christian artwork and designs or even if I amass thousands of followers on Jen2TheWord Facebook, Jen2TheWord Instagram or Jen2TheWord YouTube, I know that I am doing God's will.
How do I know? Because all of my creativity comes from Him who sanctifies and perfects me (Hebrews 10:15).
